Photography Goals for 2014

2013 has been an exciting year for me. I shot amazing weddings and sessions, met amazing people, and went full time. 
But 2014 will be even better! I have big plans and many goals and I know that hard work, humility and God’s blessings, good things will happen.

So here it is, my 2014 business goals list:

Get published! It’s been a dream of mine for a while now! I just need to produce and submit! There are so many places you can get published and so many opportinuties.

 Do more styled shoots. One awesome thing about the local photographers in the area I live, is that they are constantly wanting to do something different! I just created a stylized Winter Wonderland Shoot with a great friend and photographer of mine and it was AMAZING!

Seriously, let’s get creative! We want to think outside of the box, and still make some elegant & beautiful stories come to life.!

 Branding. This is almost on every photographer’s list of goals. Maybe creative’s are just never completely happy with their logo, their website etc. And that might be a good thing. We need to develop to move forward and to stay creative. Branding is so much more than just a logo and that might be the reason why it’s so tricky. Your brand is you. It is what you represent. 2013 has taught me that it’s not an easy process. I’m so indecisive and it drives me crazy! One of the first things I want to tackle this year is welcome packages and client packaging.

Do exciting things. One of my biggest goals is to get a destination wedding booked! I love to travel and see new things! I would love to shoot on a tropical beach, or even somewhere in Europe! Ah swoon!!

Be fit. Another obvious choice. I want to be healthy, happy and fit. Since I am not really a big fan of going to the gym by myself, I joined Crossfit. Best decision ever! I love the challenge and friendships I’ve made with the other people in the Box!  Keep some space between work and our personal life. This is a tough one and I think I might need some tough love here. Being self-employed does not mean that you have to work 24/7. In 2014 I will work on knowing when to “turn work off”. I hope this means I’ll have a lot more time for friends, for going new places, and movie dates with the hubby

Wedding Photography Giveaway!!!!!

Are you (or someone you know) getting married in 2014?  Do you need wedding photography? (Please say YES, EVERYONE needs and deserves to have their special day captured with exquisite wedding photography.  I am so excited to announce that Sara Renee Photography, a Washington State Wedding Photographer, is offering a FREE WEDDING DAY PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGE to one lucky couple!

- all travel fees are to be paid by the winning couples. Which means it can be anywhere!! I'm thinking a beach, in the mountains, something beautiful!
- 8 hours of Wedding Day Coverage (you can add more at an hourly rate)

The winners will be notified by email to the address they provided and announced on the blog on February 5^th, 2014 .

The rules of the giveaway:

You must be 18 years or older to enter, and getting married between now and December 31, 2014.  Your wedding can take place anywhere in the U.S. or even internationally-I have a passport. You also don’t have to be having a full on wedding-elopements count too!

If your wedding is taking place more than 50 miles outside of my home in Ephrata, WA, you agree to pay for all travel and lodging expenses that may result.

Your wedding must be on a day that isn’t already booked by Sara Renee Photography. Therefore, you must have a date set when you enter.

2)    Share this giveaway with others by sharing the link to this post on Facebook, or the photo from my facebook page. Also share the photo on instagram and link to my profile @sarareneephoto along with the tag #sarareneeweddinggiveaway.

3)    Leave a comment on this post that you’ve done the above, and then send me an email at sarareneephoto@gmail.com with the following:

- Your names

-Your wedding date
- Your wedding location and venue

- A photo of the two of you that best represents you as a couple

- Tell me what you envision for your day–style, theme, feel, any other details you wish to share. If you have a Pinterest board, please send that also!

- Tell me your love story, all about your proposal, who you are as a couple, and why you would love to win this giveaway! Also tell me a few things about each of you as individuals 

- A statement that you read the rules and that you agree to the terms of the giveaway.

Entries will be accepted from today, until February 1st 2014. Winners will be announced on the blog on February 5^th, 2014.

1. No purchase required to enter.

2. Any personal information provided to Sara Renee Photography will only be used to contact the winning couple. No solicitations will occur. No contact information will be shared with any other persons or entity.

3. By entering the contest your are granting permission for Sara Renee Photography to edit, reproduce, and publish photographs submitted to the 2014 Wedding Photography Giveaway. Photographs will be used but not limited to promotion of the giveaway through publishing on SRBs website or through social media affiliated with Sara Renee Photography. By submitting a photo for the giveaway you forgo any rights to approve editing, reproduction, and publication by Sara Renee Photography

4. The wedding photography package is valued at $2,000. The giveaway includes a 1-hour engagement session, 8-hours of wedding photography coverage, high re images from engagement/wedding day.  Printing/Sharing rights will be given to the winning couple granting permission to print images and give photos to friends and family. Given the value of the giveaway, you may be required to report the value of this package on personal income taxes. Please review Arkansas’ state income tax regulations. Sara Renee Photography are not liable for any negligence or evasion of the winning couple in reporting or claiming the value of the wedding photography giveaway.

5. In the case that Sara Renee Photography is already contractually obligated to another couple on the winning couple’s 2014 wedding date, other photography services will be awarded in place of the giveaway package. Substitute giveaway photography can include the following options: bridal session, bridal boudoir session, rehearsal photography, after wedding session, and 1-year anniversary portrait session. In the case where a substitution for the wedding day photography is required, Sara Renee and the winning couple will discuss the other photography options itemized above that they can have for free. The selections may not exceed $2,000 in value, but may be less than $2,000 in value.

6. Travel fees or on-location fees may apply and are NOT included in the giveaway package.

7. In the case of technical errors, the contest will be extended to ensure each participant receives sufficient time to submit to the contest and/or to have their photo repinned. If you experience technical problems, please notify Sara Renee immediately.

8. SRP will receive exclusive publication of images by Sara Renee Photography of the winning couple’s wedding. If the winning couple purchases other photography options, SRP will also receive exclusive publication of those images.

9. The winning couple must sign a photography contract with Sara Renee Photography.  This contract will be provided to the couple after contacting them. The winning couple will have 2-weeks to sign and return the contract or forfeit the wedding photography package they won in the giveaway.

10. SRP must receive a minimum of 10 entries in order for the contest to take place.  If 10 entries are not received by the end of the contest, all current contestants will be notified, and could possibly be entered in a future contest if they so desire.
